Oil - more than just fuel: "Circular economy"Petrochemical products are indispensable in our daily lives. But producing them requires resources. Such products are far too valuable to simply throw away and should instead be recycled. Many plastic products are recycled mechanically - sorted, shredded, ground and washed in order to produce new plastic products. However, there are certain applications where mechanical recycling has its limitations. In OMV's innovative ReOil plant in Schwechat, they're producing synthetic crude from plastic waste. Here 100 kilograms of plastic is turned into 100 liters of crude oil - every single hour!
